Purpose of the SJV Career Network

The SJV Career Network exists to facilitate professional networking, mentorship, information sharing, and introductions among individuals seeking employment, career guidance, business relationships, or professional contacts.

The organization is intended to provide opportunities for members of the community to connect with one another for career-related purposes. Participation is voluntary and provided without charge unless otherwise stated.

Independent Organization

The SJV Career Network is an independent volunteer organization. It is not a ministry, program, service, affiliate, or official representative of St. John Vianney Parish, the Archdiocese of Chicago, or the Roman Catholic Church.

The views, opinions, job postings, recommendations, and communications of participants do not necessarily reflect the views of St. John Vianney Parish, the Archdiocese of Chicago, or the Roman Catholic Church.

Not an Employment Agency

The SJV Career Network is not an employment agency, recruiting firm, staffing company, placement service, human resources provider, or professional career counseling service.

The organization does not recruit, hire, screen, evaluate, certify, endorse, recommend, guarantee, or place candidates for employment.

No Guarantee of Employment or Outcomes

Participation in the SJV Career Network does not guarantee employment, interviews, job offers, referrals, business opportunities, professional advancement, or any other outcome.

Any employment, consulting, contracting, mentoring, or business relationship that results from participation in the network is solely the responsibility of the parties involved.

No Endorsement

Job postings, resumes, professional profiles, referrals, recommendations, introductions, and other information shared through the network are provided by participants.

The SJV Career Network does not verify, endorse, warrant, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, qualifications, reputation, suitability, or legality of any participant, employer, job opportunity, service provider, or business opportunity.

Participants are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before entering into any employment, consulting, business, or professional relationship.

Participant Responsibilities

Participants agree to:

  • Provide accurate information to the best of their knowledge.
  • Conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Use information obtained through the network only for legitimate professional and employment-related purposes.
  • Respect the privacy of other participants.
  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, spam, fraud, or deceptive practices.

The SJV Career Network reserves the right to remove participants, content, or postings that are deemed inappropriate, misleading, unlawful, or inconsistent with the organization’s mission.

Acceptable Use

Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and lawful manner.

The SJV Career Network may not be used for:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior
  • Fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading information
  • Spam, unsolicited marketing, or mass solicitation
  • Commercial activities unrelated to employment, professional networking, or career development
  • Collection of participant information for unauthorized purposes
  • Illegal activities or activities that violate applicable laws or regulations

Participants are responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide and for maintaining professional standards in their interactions with others.

Removal of Content and Participants

The SJV Career Network reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to remove content, job postings, profiles, comments, or other materials that are deemed inappropriate, misleading, unlawful, offensive, or inconsistent with the mission of the organization.

The SJV Career Network also reserves the right to suspend or terminate participation by any individual or organization whose conduct is disruptive, abusive, fraudulent, or otherwise contrary to the purposes of the network.

The SJV Career Network is not obligated to provide advance notice, explanation, or appeal procedures regarding such decisions.

Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination

The SJV Career Network welcomes participation from individuals of all backgrounds and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

Employment decisions are made solely by employers and hiring organizations and are not controlled by the SJV Career Network.

Limitation of Liability

Participation in the SJV Career Network is voluntary and at the participant’s own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the SJV Career Network, its volunteers, organizers, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from participation in the network, use of the website, reliance on information provided by participants, employment decisions, business relationships, or any other activities related to the organization.

Changes to These Terms

The SJV Career Network reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Continued participation in the network after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
